About the Author

D.E. Roberts keeps the systems running, and he knows exactly where they break.

He kept fighter jets flying as a U.S. Air Force mechanic, ran his own electrical contracting company for twenty-four years, and spent seventeen more at the University of Virginia overseeing the plumbers and electricians for eighty-eight buildings.

Now he writes the Katherine Reese thrillers. Reese is a former covert operative who walked away from the program after it ordered her to kill one of her own. She lives quietly in Crawford's Knob, a fictional town in the Nelson County hills, near where Roberts lives with his wife of fifty-one years. Together they raised three boys.
